White Wednesday

Wow, the week is just flying by!

So much to do and so little time.

I've been so busy cleaning and pricing, getting ready for the garden show at Monticello.

I did take a little time to snap a few pictures though.

Old letters!

Always fun to read.

Old spools of crochet thread.

And last an old baby doll.

Clothed in a vintage white dress.

She came with a sweet vintage sweater and booties.

Thank you for stopping by.

Be sure to check out all the participants this week.

Head over to Kathleen's of Faded Charm.

A Beautiful White Wednesday!

It really is a beautiful White Wednesday!

I woke up to sunshine, what a beautiful thing to wake up to!

Here are a few photos I took for the White Wednesday post.

I love to pick up string while out treasure hunting!

It's one of those useful items!

I think I like it to much and need to go through my stash and start getting rid of some!

An old birdbath I acquired a few years back.

And last, but never least a sea of pretty white flowers.

I'm sorry I don't know the name of them.

But, they sure are pretty!

Thank you for stopping by!

The Ugly Duckling

Saturdays are usually filled with estate shopping.

Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot going on as far as treasure hunting goes.

So my #1 and I headed to the Rebuilders store to purchase old boards to finish an old cabinet that I purchased about a month ago.

I have to tell you my #1 was not pleased with this cabinet when he first saw it.

I have to admit it wasn't the prettiest thing.

It looked as if it was carelessly torn out of the inside of a garage.

But I just knew he could do something great with it.

Every time he saw the cabinet he would express to me that it would make better firewood then anything.

Well, today was the day he tore into it.

I have to say it still isn't pretty but it looks a lot better!

I love the old primitive shelving.

I'm sure it will make a wonderful garden storage cabinet for an avid gardener.

And more importantly it's done!

So, if you're looking for a great old primitive cabinet to put gardening supplies in, be sure to come to Monticello's Garden Show, which opens April 9th.

Thank you for stopping by!

White Wednesday!

I have to say, "White Wednesday" has made me post weekly!

I've been up to my eyebrows in preparation for the Garden Show at Monticello
next month.

It's been keeping me pretty busy.

I decided to take a quick little break and look for a few white things I have around the house.

Old white fencing, I've always had a fondness for that.

Old white pillars.

I'm still looking for a statue to set on top.

An old spaghetti Sheep Dog, he's pretty cute!

An old creamy white lampshade.

I picked that up this week-end, I just loved the ruffle.

Two more sweet Scotties!

Last, an old cookie jar.

The paint has long gone on this piece but I love that it's all white!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's Another White Wednesday!

And because White Wednesday is here I thought I better take some pictures today while the sun is out.

You never know what tomorrow will bring!

Here are a couple of old wedding veils that I enjoy displaying.

They actually both are displayed on an old birdcage I have in the living room.

I found this old chippy white birdcage at an estate sale years ago, stand and all.

I didn't even have to paint it!

The next item is a wonderful old display cabinet.

I originally had it in the shop, locked up selling little items in it.

But, it ended up getting broke into, so it came home with me and I've used it ever since.

I probably should paint the lock white, but I've just never gotten around to it.

When I first started collecting I was on the lookout for porcelain Josef figurines.

They had sentimental value, as I remember getting them as a child.

I've stopped collecting them as my taste has changed, but I've never quite gotten rid of my collection.

(sorry, I got a little side-tracked and veered away from the white theme for a moment)

I'm back on track!

Here is a fun old white metal tray.

And last a little wedding topper display I have under glass.

White Wednesday!

Well, I'm starting White Wednesday a little early.

Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day.

This White Wednesday I decided to show off my pretty Daphne.

Oh, what a wonderful smell!

My dear dad gave me these today, when I stopped by!

What a fun treat!

Today, I thought I'd show you a few things I picked up this past week-end while out shopping.

Aren't these the sweetest little dishes?

I couldn't resist them.

Which probably means I'll have a hard time letting them go.

How about a stash of vintage children's knitted mittens.

Perfect for December.

I know, it's a long ways away, but you've got to think ahead.

Lastly, an old clock with a sweet face.

Old chippy metal.

Thank you for stopping by and seeing a few of my white items.
