I Think It's Puppy Love!

I wanted to share with you my nieces newest addition to her family.

Sunday evening my mother and a friend of hers went to the airport to pick up a special delivery .

Flying in from Alabama was this sweet English Bulldog puppy.

This little girl spent the night with my parents then early Monday morning traveled to Eugene to meet up with my niece.

This was a special birthday gift for her husband.

She had planned a surprise birthday party for him and this was his wonderful gift.

He has always wanted a bulldog and this birthday he got his wish.

What a fun surprise!

He loved her!

My son got to take the trip with his grandparents to deliver this sweet little girl to his cousin.

Aren't puppies fun!

Start Talking To Your Mountains!

I saw this quote on Theresa McFayden's blog and knew I wanted this up in my studio.

So, I got out some old magazines, books and different letters and tried my hand at creating my own little picture.

This is something I need to remember each and every day.

God is bigger then my problems!

My Treasure Hunting Week-end

Ok, so I heard that people were waiting outside this house as early as 5:00am for this sale that started at 9:00am.

I do enjoy estate shopping but I am not willing to get up that early and wait four hours!

Since we hadn't signed up for this sale we showed up a little after 9:00am and waited 30 minutes to get in the door.

Let me tell you, I saw some really good things walking out the door!

When we finally got in the door there were still more treasures to be found!

Ok, so I might have to keep this little girl, she is just as cute as can be!

I believe this cute little vintage holder is for earrings.

What a perfect way to store those rhinestone clip-ons until they're ready to be used.

And in pink too!

After we had taken our first load to the car we decided to go back in and look around again.

It's so much easier to look around when your arms aren't full and the crowd has gone down!

My #1 also got into some fishing, so he was a happy boy!

Here is a sweet doll swing I picked up.

It's amazing how many vintage treasures are still out there waiting to be found.

I am so glad there are people who do not like to throw away things!

A Day of Stamping!

Well, today after I dropped off my son I took a quick trip to the thrift store.

I didn't see much going on but I did spot four pretty plates.

I'm not familiar enough with Transferware, but these do look something like Transferware.

I'll have to check with my buddy Sue, she knows a lot more about this then I do.

The back of the plates read "Double Phoenix, Nikko". Any information you gals can give me would be great!

I've had a project in the back of my mind that I was able to finally work on today.

Here are some fun bags made from vintage flour sacks.

I am loving stamping and I had so much fun using old and new stamps to create these bags.

Inside of each bag I tucked a little packet of lavender to give it a wonderful smell.

My mind is now racing with other stamping possibilities!

Somebody stop me!

To Fun!

Pretty In Cream!

Last week-end while estate shopping I came across these vintage Johnson Brothers dishes.

Today I took them out of the box to take a closer look.

There were about ten plates, a soup tureen, and a platter. They were asking $22.00 for all of it.

I was going back and forth, was it worth $22.00?

I walked away, debating whether I should or shouldn't, you know, we've all been there.

Pretty soon my #1 came upstairs from the basement carrying a white dish. He said, "Deb, you said you like white dishes, you've got to come down stairs and see what's in the pantry".

It was a bunch of the same Johnson Brothers Plates. "Wow, that sealed the deal, I'll take them!"

They didn't even change the price. They gave me everything for $22.00!

Yippee!

Besides being chauffeur for the day, I was able to finish up a few projects.

I was able to put together some Easter packages for the shop as well as finishing up a couple of pincushions.

Doesn't it feel good to get unfinished projects done?

I love Spring Break!

Two Useful Vintage Items

I thought I'd share with you a couple of items that I use in my studio to hold different things that I will eventually use.

As you can see I've taken an old birdcage and converted it into a caddy for vintage threads and a few pincushion creations.

It's great because I can see what colors I have on hand, ready to use right away.

As you know I have a thing for these old wig heads.

This one I use to display different jewelry and any other fun pieces.

If I had enough room I think I would have a shelf of these.

I could display all my "bling" that is waiting in a box for me to use!

Wouldn't that be a fun shelf!

Lastly, I want to tell you about a FABULOUS Giveaway my friend Sue of Bella Shabby is having!

It's a Double Giveaway, two great items.

So be sure to stop by her blog and get your name in!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

This Little Piggy Went Home!

No estate shopping this week-end!

It was time to visit family.

We headed to Medford, Oregon to visit my sister and her family.

We had a wonderful time.

Aren't sisters great!

We arrived Friday evening. It was fun to see all of my neices and nephews and of course, sweet baby Alexis, my (grandneice). She is full of smiles and so fun to love on.

Saturday morning involved a little trip to find pigs for the kid's 4H projects, which will be coming up in July.

My neice was a true girl and picked according to "looks", you've just got to love that!

Although, I do have to say she did pretty well last year with her pig at the fair!

There must be something said for cute pigs!

We also went to my neice's home and visited.

Here is a picture of what she sees when she looks outside her door, Long-horns!

Aren't they magnificent!

Saturday afternoon, my #1 and I went into Jacksonville, a fun little town close to Medford. It was the location of one of the first placer goldmines in Oregon. The town has attempted to keep some of its original flavor which makes it an interesting place ot visit.

They have a wonderful Coffee Shop which we love to hit whenever we are in town.

Here are a couple of pictures of the window at the Barber Shop in town.

Here is one of my favorite shops in Jacksonville, Farmhouse Treasures.

I wanted to take pictures inside the shop for you, but since the owner wasn't there to ask permission I ended up taking a window shot instead.

Here are a couple of things I picked up at Farmhouse Treasures.

Sunday morning we got up went to church and headed back home.

We experienced every kind of weather possible from snow to hail, rain and sunshine.

Isn't it Spring?

Hope you had a great week-end too!

Sweet Finds!

What a fun week-end! I was able to get out and find some vintage treasures.

The first place I like to hit in a house is the basement or the upstairs, I mean way upstairs.

It seems like that's where the real treasures are found or at least where I find mine. I think things that become old are thrown in the basement or put up in the attic. I know that is where I'd put them. It's probably a good thing I don't have a basement or an attic.

The above picture are some old millinery flowers that I was able to pick up this week-end.

After we got home we started unloading the truck. Everything ended up in the entryway so I thought I'd just take a quick picture before putting it all away.

We picked up a few tables this week-end as well as the fun old cabinet shown.

I picked up this great box of vintage cards. Don't you just love the artwork on old cards! So sweet!

I'll have to bundle some up and take them to Monticello.

We were able to go back again today for some half price buying!

That's always fun.

While waiting in line I got to meet Julie and Christa from Kindred Spirit Soap Co. and Kindred Roses .

We didn't get a lot of time to talk as the doors opened and everyone went scurrying about looking for great deals. They did end up with a stash of sweet finds though! So be sure to stop by their blog and say, "Hi". and see what they've been up to.

It's always fun to make contact with other blogging buddies!

I don't sell a lot of vintage clothing but these vintage dresses were in wonderful pastel colors, perfect for Spring!

And they were half off so I picked them up.

Isn't that the sweetest bow on the back of this dress!

I saw this vintage doll head on Saturday and wanted to buy it but just didn't want to pay what they were asking for it. Today half price! Yippee!

Thank you for stopping by and looking at what I found this week-end.

What Is It About PINK!

Ok, so what is it about pink that catches my eye.

When out estate shopping I try and keep my finds to neutral colors as these colors go in most everyone's house.

But... when I see pink, especially shabby and worn pink, I have to pick it up!

I'm addicted to PINK!

And what about the old vintage aqua color....we'll we won't even go there!

I hope each of you have a wonderful week-end!

Thank you for stopping by!
