Where I Create!

Well, today is the day!

Karen, from, My Desert Cottage is hosting a fun blogging party with lots of participants.

Where Bloggers Create!

I took lots of pictures so I debated whether to post each one or put together a slideshow.

I ended up doing a little of both, sorry for the duplicate pictures in the slideshow.

My studio is quite small but it's packed with everything.

I'm afraid I didn't take much time to pretty it up as I am getting ready to go on vacation but who has time to clean when you're crafting!

This space was originally my #1's but he let me create my own room for my supplies.

I know he was hoping too get all of my crafting supplies out of the rest of the house.

It has worked pretty good, not too many of my things overflow.

WELCOME TO MY STUDIO!

I took off my slide show as I didn't want my blog to load up slow for some of you.

You can go to my sidebar and click on my "Flickr" slide show to see more picks of my studio.

Thank you for dropping by!

Be sure to check out the other ladies

Checking Out The Out Buildings!

This morning I headed off to an estate sale.

This sale was advertised as a phase 1 sale.

This sale consisted of the garage and outbuildings which meant, a lot of "guy things".

I don't mind these sales though as there are actually a lot of things I find.

I'm always in the market for old hardware and these are great places to find them.

Here is one of the first things I found.

Of course it was filled with screws, bolts etc...

I didn't really want that but maybe there was something in there #1 would want.

This is a homemade box.

It looks like it was made from an old crate.

The drawers are interesting too as they are old cheese boxes.

Pretty cleaver!

Here is another couple of drawers I found, these are attached to each other.

Lots of little compartments inside of it.

While cleaning these items I wondered what the gentleman would have thought of those of us who like these great old chippy items.

Here I am washing items that were meant for a mechanices garage.

Taking it inside a house and putting little craft items in it or displaying vintage pretties inside of it.

He probably would of thought I was pretty silly.

I also found a box of small old jars with labels.

Here is an old tub I found under a pile of junk.

Wouldn't this be great with flowers in it.

Or maybe for a party filled with ice and cold pop.

I enjoy those digger sales.

None of this high end prissy stuff for me, show me the garage!

I love getting my hands dirty searching for fun finds.

Before I go I want to remind you that tomorrow evening I will be drawing a name for the tote.

So, if you haven't signed up and would like to enter your name be sure to do so.

Give Away

Thanks. Now remember to check back tomorrow evening!

A Day of Fishing!

Yesterday was a day off for my #1.

Last week-end he went to the Deschutes and did a little fly fishing so he had the itch to do a little more fishing this week-end.

The first 15 years or so of our marriage we would jump in the truck and take off for a river.

He would fish and I would enjoy the sun and read a lot of magazines.

When our son came along he would enjoy playing in the water throwing rocks, never a big hit for a fisherman, the throwing rocks part.

This must have been the reason my #1 ended up so far down stream from us.

Fishing has never been a big hit with our son but he came along anyway.

It's so much more fun when everyone is together.

Of course the area my husband wanted to fish was straight down a cliff hill, which was quite a trip with a heavy load of books on my arm.

But, it was beautiful and I enjoyed watching him enjoy his time, as he loves being outdoors.

Still at 16, my son found things around him to enjoy.

Skipping rocks!

And just getting his feet wet!

I enjoyed looking for wild flowers.

Wild pink roses.

When you first look at this area you don't see all the pretty flowers as they are tucked away in little areas.

But, they're there!

And even a little "Salal".

Overall a pretty good day!

Have a wonderful 4th!

Just A Lot of Painting!

This kind of sums up what I've been doing this last week.

Painting, painting, painting and a little more painting.

Maybe not with these old brushes but with my Purdy.

I will be decorating the window space at Monticello in August so I've been collecting, packaging and painting for that.

It's always a lot of fun.

My sister-in-law, Kathy is doing the window this month and it looks fabulous!

If you are in town this summer be sure to stop by.

The mall is full of treasures from so many talented gals.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and especially safe 4th of July!

Thank you for stopping by!
