apron.ology and GIVEAWAY!

Look what I found this week!

Yeah! The newest "apron.ology" magazine!

What a wonderful magazine to look through.

There are so many pretty aprons to appreciate

and so many talented ladies.

While looking through this magazine, I was reminded of all the wonderful apron patterns I've been collecting.

I decided to pull one of them out and start creating my own apron.

I decided to use a sweet vintage slip.

The first step was cutting into it.

Why is that so hard?

I closed my eyes and started cutting.

The slip seemed to combine well with a cream colored cotton fabric which I found.

I used a long piece of vintage crocheted lace.

It was one of my favorite pieces.

I just love the sweet little roses crocheted into each section.

Well, this is the final result.

I thought it turned out nicely, very sweet and feminine.

I hope you like it!

Because....it's another "GIVEAWAY"!

Just leave a comment or tell about it on your blog for an additional chance and I will enter your name for this apron.

That's it, pretty simple.

I'll draw a name on Tuesday the 16th.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek at what I've been up to.

What is it about aprons that touch our hearts?
The first project in home ec [ca 1953] was sewing an apron. I will forever keep that vision in my heart.
Gee, 1953 would that be retro? - - - certainly NOT vintage.
Your vintage-slip apron is simply delish.
Hugs,
Gerry

I really love this apron, I also love how you photographed each part of how you developed this idea and then created this apron.

Sometimes it is just so hard to cut into that special fabric. It is "safer" to just have it sit on a shelf and caress is every now and then. lol! Beautiful job!

Went out directly after reading your post and purchased my copy of
(apron*ology) and so happy you wrote about it.
I've been gathering possible candidates for transformation.
Wish I had more items to use for embellishments.
Thanks for the heads-up - ah, aprons.
