~Beautiful White Wednesday~

I thought I'd show you my latest weakness.

Small, old, delicate white pitchers.

At least that's what I call them.

I've only picked up two so far.

So... I guess it's not considered a collection yet, but I'm on my way!

I thought they'd be a little easier to find but they're not!

But the hunt is half the fun.

So, I'll continue my search!

Thank you Kathleen of Faded Charm for hosting this fun White Wednesday event.

It always makes me take some time out and do a little posting!

I also wanted to tell you about a wonderful giveaway that Sweet Pea is having.

I'm not sure what it is yet but because it's from Shelley, it's going to be a good one!

So be sure to stop by her blog and leave a comment.

She has the most scrumptious pictures to look at.

I mean if the above picture doesn't tempt you to stop by and look, well....I don't know what to say!

Wouldn't You?

This morning a friend of mine told me she had seen a couple of old chairs by the street for "FREE".

You know us "Scrappers", we're willing to humiliate ourselves for a good deal!

Everything sounded good, they were old, rusty and metal!

But, I had to wait until after work to run by and check them out.

So after work I jumped in the car and headed out.

When I got there I was relieved that they were still there.

But, when I got out of the car there was an older man across the street, cleaning up his yard.

He looked at me pretty strangely but I gave him a smile and got out of my car to inspect the chairs.

I could feel my whole body turning red but these chairs were worth it so I ignored him and started loading the chairs.

Fortunately, they fit in the car and I could quickly get back in and hurry off before someone came running after me, yelling "Why are you taking my chairs!"

I mean, don't you think about things like that when you pick them up off the street!

Well, I got them home and cleaned them up, they're actually cast iron chairs, they're quite heavy.

They have great lines.

I needed to put some kind of cushion on them so I had a couple of feather pillows that worked perfectly.

I thought burlap would fit the bill, so I used that.

I was able to finish the project quickly and they're at the Garden Show awaiting a new home.

Just another day in the life of a "Junker".

A Little Thrift Shopping

Today my #1 and I spent the day together.

I've had this week off so it was nice he could get a few days as well.

He is so sweet to accommodate the things I want to do.

I'm quite sure he'd rather of been fishing but he's a good sport.

We started off the morning with breakfast.

You know it's always cheaper to eat out on a week-day then the week-end, at least for breakfast.

We then ran around hitting a few thrift stores.

At one of the stores I found this wonderful old cabinet!

I had big plans for this cabinet.

I've wanted something old and pretty to put my T.V. in and this was it!

Unfortunately, the T.V. was bigger then the cabinet, just by an inch!!!

But, I haven't given up I'm still thinking.

Soon after that we came home.

Poor hubby another project!

I had an old table that I wanted him to cut down the legs on as I wanted a different coffee table in my living room.

And since he was off today and the sun was out, I thought it would be the perfect day for such a project!

I love how it turned out!

I love the old natural wood on the top with just a bit of paint peeking through.

What a trooper I married!

It's always great to have him home!

I hope he doesn't decide to go back to work tomorrow!

Pretty In White!

It's White Wednesday!

Hosted by Kathleen from Faded Charm!

I was able to meet Kathleen this week at Monticello.

And yes, she is as lovely as her blog.

I also met Shellagh from Ticking and Toile as well as Kim from White Whispers To You, two very sweet fellow bloggers.

Be sure to check out their blogs, you will really enjoy them.

This week-end I picked up an old chaise patio chair.

It has all the wonderful chippy white paint we love.

One thing it didn't' have was a cushion.

So, today I took care of that and put one together.

Unfortunately, my sergers stopped working when I only had 6 inches left to surge.

I think it's the motor!

This is the third sewing machine in a month that will have visited the repair shop!

When it rains it pours!

Here is an old wooden box that I finally got painted.

Perfect for a bunch of flowers!

White and creamy white pillows!

Hope you have a wonderful White Wednesday!

Oh yes, remember the Garden Show at Monticello runs through the 25th of this month.

The spaces are being stocked daily with new items!

You Are In For A Real Treat!

I am not kidding!

If you are in the Portland area, you will not want to miss the Garden Show at Monticello!

It opens today, April 9th and runs through the 25th.

There are so many talented people participating this year.

Every space is just over-flowing with creative ideas!

Here are some pictures of what I've been collecting and working on these past couple of months.

One of the things I put together were towels trimmed with vintage lace.

I've picked up a few while out treasure hunting and just love them so I decided to buy new towels and add old lace.

Another project I did was taking old baskets and creating liners for them.

Be sure to drop by!
