And then I saw this....

I just love "Snowball" trees!

This is a tree I keep telling myself to buy but I just never get around to it.

Fortunately for me, my parents have one and it is beautiful!

Hydrangeas are another favorite of mine.

I hadn't owned any until last year at which time I bought three.

Unfortunately, they still aren't big enough to pick and enjoy inside the house.

Maybe next year!

After school today I decided to drop by a thrift store in the area.

I didn't find anything so I started to head out when this captured my attention.

What do you think it is?

I thought they were probably empty.

But what the heck, I'd take a peek!

This is what I saw.....

It could have been any kind of plates but it wasn't, it was Ironstone!

They were in great condition and they were old.

And...it was a 10 piece place setting.

The only thing that could have made it better is if they were half off!

But, I can live with it!

Happy treasure hunting this week-end!

Oh my goodness Debbie,
I am so jealous!! I am a huge collector of white ironstone, and when I find it my heart still skips a beat. What a fabulous find! I also love hydrangeas and purchased one last summer. The leaves are growing like crazy but so far no blooms. I'm so sad.
Have a great Friday.
Sincerely,
Melinda

Are you kidding me!!! What an awesome score!
I love your pictures of the snowballs. I love that shrub so much and I think great minds must think alike, because I just bought my first three last summer as well. I had always wanted one, but once the blooms were gone in the ones I saw around town, I would forget about them. Finally I remedied the situation when I saw them on sale last year.
HAve a great Mother's Day!
hugs

White ironstone...I love it!! What a great find! I love hydrangeas as well and planted some in my garden a few years ago. They've grown quite big and have beautiful buds so close to opening...can't wait!:) Jo

I like snowball bushes too, have two in my yard, here on the east coast they just finished blooming this week. I have lots of hydrangeas too, lost count! I just planted a rooted cutting of a variegated hydrangea. Not sure about snowballs, but the hydrangeas make great cut flowers.
