There Had To Be A Marriage!

For quite sometime now I've been keeping an eye out for a storage bench to go in my entryway.

Let me start by telling you that all my #1's tools end up in the entryway!

He only has a 1/4th of a garage, as 3/4 of the garage was turned into another room (this was something that was done to the house before we bought it) so everything ends up in the entryway.

When company comes I quickly stack up everything and drape a fabric panel over it to hide the mess.

(only open one eye, it looks pretty bad right now!)

All that to say a few weeks back I met the perfect piece of furniture.

I just knew this piece had to meet my #1's mess.

I knew it would be love at first sight!

And it was!

This originally was the bottom of an armoire.

The top had since long gone.

All it needed was a "lid".

It had two big drawers in front making for a lot of storage.

So my #1 got to work and added a top to it.

The top opens and closes making it easy to get into.

I primed her and painted her.

She looked beautiful in white!

But she needed something on top!

It had to be durable as I knew as soon as my #1 got into her everything on top would be on the floor.

Burlap?... burlap was good!

It wouldn't show the dirt and could be tossed around!

* * * * *

THE UNVEILING!

Doesn't she look beautiful!

The two became one!

The perfect match!

And they lived happily ever after!

The End!

I love the way it turned out. I am sure many walked by thinking what can I do with it or it needs work?
Those pillows are great too.

WOW!! That was a match made in heaven!! I need to do that too cause we both end up with all our tools in the foyer. That comes from an 9 1/2 year remodel plus being too lazy to carry them back to the detached garage!!

It is just beautiful!!

I'm drooling!! It's amazing what paint can do to transform something! I think I'm just going to have to start painting some of my pieces that I want to replace. And those pillows (sigh)....I want some of those soooo bad!
Thaks for this fabulous inspiration!
