Ruffles, Lace and A Little Motrin!

Well, I have to tell you the day didn't start out the way I planned!

I decided I wanted to make myself a tote bag.

Good, fun idea right?

I headed into the room where my large boxes of fabric are stored, each one on top of the other.

To make a long story short.

I got the box of fabric I needed.

But when I started to put the last box (full of barkcloth)back on top I pulled a muscle in my back.

Oh, the pain!

Do big girls cry?

This one felt like it.

I didn't lift with my legs but my back, big mistake!

Motrin, is now my friend.

The nurse said it would take about two weeks before it felt better.

Two weeks, I don't have time for this!

I did manage to find the fabric I wanted and was able to sew up my tote.

It just went a little slower then it would normally.

I was in the mood for ruffles, old lace and whatever else I could think of.

This bag will be easy to clean.

I decided to add a different closure.

I wanted to add an old key to the bag, it just seemed to go together with the old lace.

The key will be easy to remove when the bag needs to be cleaned.

Thank you for stopping by!

Hi Debbie,
Sorry about your back.
It is such a pain when our bodies don't want to behave the way we expect them too. {pun intended) Hope it does't really take a month to get better!! Yikes that would be torture...
Hang in there and I love your new tote, so cute!
JOY!

What an awful price to pay for your lovely tote. It's amazing, btw! I think you need to make some more to sell. Who doesn't love ruffles and lace and old keys for that matter. Hope you feel lots better soon!

Gentle hugs,

Lisa

Hi Debbie,
I'm asking too. Are you going to sell those? I love it. Back pain is so hard to deal with because it takes so long to heal. It seems that just when I start to feel better I do something stupid and am right back in the middle of it. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
Smiles,
June

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your back...that's got to be about the worst place to have pain. But, OMGosh!!! That bag is gorgeous!!!! I love it! And yes, the key is perfect with the ruffles and lace.
Take it easy now, no more heavy lifting for you!

Your tote is adorable... dispite the pain you were in while you made it. Take epson salts baths... it helps, seriously! It has been the cure for my boys after sports injuries and also for me/I get injections in my back for pain. The bath is always my first resort.
