It's A Keeper!

I had to show you a picture I picked up today.

I was thrilled when I found it.

Sweet little babies, possibly cherubs sitting in a tree.

K-I-S-S-I-N....ok, I'll stop!

I was excited to find this as it reminded me of a larger picture I had bid on at an auction, quite a few years ago, and lost.

One of those regrets.

I wish I would have bid higher, as I have never seen one since.

But, who's to say the gal bidding against me wouldn't of bid higher also.

So, I said all that to say, "Yippee!"

These little babies have already found a place in my dining room.

Thank you for stopping by!

Wow! What a Week!

It's been a whirlwind week with so many things going on.

I don't know where to begin.

My son and I have had rehearsals every night this past week.

Opening night of Willy Wonka was Friday, so the week-end was full of shows.

Friday night, after the opening show, a party was scheduled.

The kids had worked so hard and were ready to unwind.

They had a lot of fun being together and dancing the night away, or at least till midnight.

On Friday I was surprised with this sweet gift from a friend.

These are little wooden candle holders.

She had gone to a garage sale that morning and found these little guys.

Apparently an elderly gentleman in his 80's remembers his mother using these on birthday cakes when he was a little boy.

I've never seen any like them.

What a fun find!

On Sunday we decided to take the plunge.

After 22 years, we decided to buy new furniture.

My couches were blue but they were hidden my white slipcovers.

I do miss the white slip covered couches as white just brightens up the room.

But the prices for new pretty slip covered couches were a bit spendy.

Now, I will slowly be re-decorating the living room adding new pieces of old things here and there.

The books in the first picture found there way into the living room as they are the same colors as are in the new couches.

Ok, so you can see where I've got a lot of work to do.

I always felt I could go either way with decorating as I love these great colors as well as white.

The couches are so comfy I know I'm going to enjoy them.

Well, that's all for now, I'm off on a field trip today.

Thank you for stopping by!

An Evening To Relax!

Well, I thought I'd try to get in a real quick post.

This is my one day off from rehearsals so I'm relaxing and enjoying every minute of it.

The theater group(CYT )moved into the local college Sunday evening.

But before the parents and kids could even get in the building the fire alarm went off.

So our large group of people had to move away from the building and wait until it was safe to go in.

We heard that it wasn't a drill but an actual fire somewhere in the college.

It's funny because move in day for our last show was full of obsticles too.

We were out of power at the school because of the cold weather.

This is what memories are made of!

Then lastly, I wanted to thank Tamerie from A Little Bit Of This And That And The Other.

She gave me this sweet award, I couldn't believe it. It was so thoughtful!

If you haven't checked out her blog be sure to do so.

She is an amazing designer and seamstress.

I am so impressed with her fabulous slipcovers.

After making slipcovers for my couch, and hating every minute of it, I might add,I am so in awe of anyone who does this and enjoys it!

WOW!

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a note.

It's kind of like getting a sweet letter from a friend during different times of the day!

Neutrals and Pastels ~ I Love It All !

Don't you just love the different neutral tones?

I sure do!

When I'm out treasure hunting those are the colors I'm looking for.

But then I spot the soft pastels and I totally loose myself in the sweet soft colors of pinks and aqua green etc...

If you were to step into my living room you'd see someone who loves the neutral tones but has a passion for anything pink.

So I try and combine the two.

In one corner we have the neutral tones and throughout the other parts of the living room and house for that matter are my pastels.

I just love it all!

I picked up something that I wouldn't have normally picked up this week-end.

These sweet dogs were in wonderful condition and brought a smile to my face.

So they came home with me.

These are from the 1940's and were given to patients in the hospitals.

Aren't they cute!

It would have almost made going to the hospital a little fun!

Almost!

Love those little Red Cross nurses hats!

A place for everyone to sign, how fun is that!

I hope each of you have a wonderful week!

My week will be so busy as my son is involved in a Willy Wonka play and dress rehearsals are every night this week.

I'm on the make-up committee so it requires being there every night.

Whew, I think I'm tired just talking about it.

The play opens on Friday and it should be a lot of fun!

So, if you're in the Portland area and enjoy plays be sure to check it out!

Flowers For Mother

Did you have a great Mother's Day?

I hope you did!

We had a full house.

It was so fun having my sister and her family here. Unfortunately, a couple of her kids couldn't make it, and they were missed.

Our parents and my sister's parents in-law were also in our home this Mother's Day.

My #1 one made a fabulous meal consisting of his wonderful spaghetti sauce plus chicken alfredo etc... it goes on and on. He does such a great job!

On Saturday I had way too much fun buying flowers.

This was my hubbies gift to me. He didn't know it at the time but when the bill rang up to $75.00 I said to myself, "This can be my Mother's Day gift!" While still at the store I think I may have heard a sigh of relief from him, and he was at home!

He always has such a hard time figuring out what to do.

I was glad I could take this one off his hands!

And last, but not least here is a sweet frog I picked up this week-end while I was at the shop.

Another frog for my collection!

A Simple Project!

Here is a simple fun project I've enjoyed making.

I love to buy little children's dresses.

And you know I love to stamp!

Well, I've collected a few old wood hangers and it's been fun to shorten these hangers and stamp "baby" on them.

A simple project with a sweet vintage look.

Don't you love simple?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Be sure to stop by my friend Sue's blog she has a great giveaway this week!

You won't want to miss it!

A Little Shopping and Time With Family

Oh boy! The lilacs are in bloom right now so I just couldn't resist picking a bunch for my home.

Kind of like bringing a little Spring indoors.

I was able to hit a few estate sales this week-end.

On Friday there was a real good estate sale but alas I had to work and couldn't make it until after 12:00.

I managed to pick up a few items but visualized all the wonderful things that were probably in that house.

Here are a few of the finds I found this week-end.

I love the graphics on this old box. Fortunately, I was able to take off the price tag, that was smack dab on the front, without tearing up the box.

I finished up a table also.

It started out brown but I replaced that with white paint and added vintage wallpaper under the glass.

Saturday afternoon we headed for Eugene to celebrate birthdays with family.

Here is my niece Sarah, she celebrated her 7th birthday!

And this "cutie-patootie" is my grandniece.

It was so fun seeing her.

These little ones grow up so fast.

Below is Maya and her Uncle Caden.

Maya's Aunt Sarah got a bicycle helmet for her birthday.

It was a hit!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I always appreciate hearing from you.
