Spoon Rings ~ Pretty Sweet!

Ok, so I'm told that "spoon rings" are pretty hip right now!

Wasn't that a 70's thing?

Ok, after doing a little research apparently they are 17th Century and they were originally used as wedding rings.

So there is a little history for you, I know, I know ... very little.

Since I don't have daughters I really depend on my neices for the inside scoop.

Yesterday while out estate shopping my #1 found me a spoon ring.

Boy do I feel hip now!

This was a petite little spoon, maybe a child's spoon.

So sweet!

I found these teaspoons today, they are small and sweet also.

They may have to turn into spoon rings!

I wanted to say thank you to Gail, Laurie and Elaine for letting me know about the pretty tree I saw yesterday.

Thank you so much for the information!

I'll have to put that on my list of "Beautiful Trees to Buy"!

Be sure to check out these gals blogs, you will enjoy yourself.

And as always, Thank you so much for stopping by!

OH! That flower spoon is going to be a great ring!! I think as with everything spoon rings come around every 10 years or so. They were big at some point when I was a teen 80's or 90's so they are back!! Can't wait to see what you make!
Hugs, Lisa

On spoon rings being hip right now...I have my ring from my teens that my grandfather gave me. It is currently being worn by my very hip 15 year old daughter...who promises not to lose it. (it had sat in my jewelery box for 20 years unworn) Glad you found one of your own!

Very cute ring! I have seen some figural bay spoons go for big bucks! Are any of them sterling? Great find :)

I love the spoon ring! I used to have one when I was little that my mom gave to me, I'd totally forgotten about it until you posted this. Thanks for the sweet memories....Lisa

I love it! My son stopped at Goodwill and bought several spoons to make his girlfriend some spoon rings! I can't believe they're back in style, but why shouldn't they be, they are so pretty! You really scored with your new spoons!

Hi Debbie,
I have always loved spoon rings. The spoons you have pictured here will make beautiful rings. Isn't that one with the cherub? and the little face on it so sweet? I'm always on the look out for tarnished silverware.
Hugs,
June

Oh memories...I had a spoon ring back in high school in the 70s! I wonder what ever happened to that? I'll have to ask my mom if she has it...she saves everything!
