Vacationing @ Detroit Lake

This past week was our yearly camping vacation to Detroit Lake.

We had a great time!

The temperature was over 100 degrees so it was hot!

It was so nice to be able to cool off in the lake every day.

The kids look forward to this campout each year.

We had around 100 people this year between family and friends.

There was water skiing and tubing during the day and playing games around the campfire at night.

My niece started out the week by giving her husband a Mohawk.

Always a lot of fun to watch!

Another niece did some fancy artwork on her brother.

She is quite talented!

On Tuesday, we took a little break from camping and took a trip into Bend.

It was my nephew's 16th birthday and he wanted to celebrate it at Red Robin.

It felt great to be out of the sun and in a cool restaurant.

On Wednesday, we made a trip to a beautiful waterfall.

The kids always enjoy climbing up the falls as well as jumping off the bridge each year.

I tried to upload a video showing my nephew jumping off the bridge but blogger doesn't seem to what to upload it.

The little kids enjoyed catching crawdads and the bigger kids enjoyed jumping off the rocks.

On Thursday a bunch of us hiked to Marion Lake.

Here is my #1 signing us in, just in case!

We actually didn't cross this bridge but the kids had fun trying to make it across.

Here are some pretty flowers we saw along the way.

We then packed up at 8:00am Sunday morning and headed home.

We had a lot to do as this month we are in the window at Monticello so we needed to get home right away and load up the truck and head to the shop.

I'll post pictures later.

I wanted to say, "Thank you" to everyone who stopped by to take a look at my studio.

I enjoyed reading your comments when I got home.

So glad to hear you had a fun camping trip. Where was that waterfall/swimming hole that you mentioned. We travel out that way several times a year and I know my kids would love to check that place out.

Hugs,

Lisa
